While you certainly don’t have to include any of these postures as part of your practice of the Felt Sense Method, they can help you become more familiar with your body. If you practice yoga already, when it comes to the practice of yoga and the practice of the FSM, there should be a clear demarcation. I suggest that you learn the FSM without trying to impose your yoga mindset on the actions. While you are learning the FSM, do not mix it with your yoga practice. Let your yoga practice be your yoga practice and the FSM be simply what it is. I do understand the temptation to mix the two, but as my childhood church song warned, yield not to temptation. Your practice of the FSM can eventually be incorporated into your yoga poses, but only use selected practice times while practicing the FSM – don’t make it a part of your regular yoga practice. I think there is a preconceived notion of what a woman with incontinence is, and they do not want to identify themselves with that.
